On Mozart's birthday, which is celebrated on 27th January, first-year students of the Early and Preschool Education and Teacher Education study programs attended the Meeting of the Classics concert as part of their fieldwork in the Music Culture course.
The renowned performers Edin Karamazov and Terezija Cukrov played historical instruments: Karamazov played a guitar from 1830, and Cukrov played a fortepiano, a replica of the instrument used by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the young Ludwig van Beethoven. The program included two Mozart sonatas (in E-flat major KV 302 and in E minor KV 304), Beethoven's Sonata op. 90, and Variations on a theme by Mozart from the opera The Magic Flute.
In the ceremonial hall of the Pula Circolo, students had the opportunity to hear the gentle sounds of the forerunners of today's instruments and experience music in an authentic historical context.
