Anticipated learning outcomes of the study program and competencies
It is expected that after completing the university graduate study Early and Preschool Education, the master will be able to:
General competencies
a) Instrumental competencies
- Interpret and apply new knowledge from professional and scientific literature
- Carry out and present research at the level of a scientific paper
- Apply appropriate presentation and communication skills
- Use their mother tongue and at least one foreign language at the academic level
- Use educational and information technology at an advanced level
- Constructively solve problems within the professional field of work
- Critically reflect on one's own work and the work of colleagues
b) Interpersonal competencies
- Organize and lead teamwork (research, projects, learning communities, professional meetings...)
- Apply knowledge and rules about group dynamics and teamwork
- Accompany a newly employed teacher during their internship in the role of mentor
- Apply the principles of tolerance, diversity and multiculturalism in working with children and adults
- Apply the principles of professional ethics in research and cooperation with others (adults and children)
Specific competencies
- Interpret and evaluate contemporary theories of preschool education
- Use modern theories of preschool education in solving specific pedagogical problems
- Integrate anthropological, pedagogical, psychological, cultural, sociological and other knowledge about modern childhood into educational work
- Participate in the creation of educational policy in the field of early and preschool education
- Plan, implement and document the curriculum of the group in accordance with the needs and interests of the children
- Organize space and a stimulating environment for play and learning for children of early and preschool age
- Design and create structured and unstructured didactic materials for educational work
- Implement and evaluate activities to meet educational needs in the kinesiological, artistic, language-communication and research-cognitive fields
- Document, analyse and evaluate the elements of the educational process in a preschool institution
- Establish and implement cooperation with parents, other educators, experts from various fields and representatives of the local and wider community
- Apply the principles of professional ethics in research and cooperation with others (adults and children)
- Organize the internship and guide the interns during their internship
