Full Professor Dr. Bojan Godina will deliver two guest lectures on manipulation and hidden messages in the media for students and the teaching staff of the Faculty of Educational Sciences. The lectures will be delivered at the Faculty of Educational Sciences on 21 and 22 January 2026. By exploring interdisciplinary aspects of sociology, psychology, and marketing, these lectures will present the media dimensions used in relation to children and young people and examine basic and relevant codes for interpreting images from the fields of art and media studies.
The author, full professor Dr. Bojan Godina, has developed a model for interpreting subconscious marketing to qualitatively and quantitatively integrate interdisciplinary insights and to analyse various media dimensions according to their content. He conducted fundamental research on methods of subliminal media manipulation at Heidelberg University in Germany. Shortly thereafter, he developed the award-winning media prevention project Medienscout, through which he established peer education in the field of media in Germany. Later, together with several colleagues, he developed a values-based media education concept that integrates human rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child into media literacy.
The lectures will take place in lecture hall 356B on the second floor of the building at Negrijeva 6, according to the following schedule:
 Wednesday, 21 January 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00 – for first- and third-year students of Early and Preschool Education, in Croatian and Italian
 Thursday, 22 January 2026, from 11:00 to 13:00 – for first- to fifth-year students of the Teacher Study programme in Croatian and Italian, and second-year students of Early and Preschool Education in Croatian and Italian.
