As part of the Researchers' Night project (Reconnecting Science with the Blue Society – Blue-connect 2.0, I'm Researching), second-year students of the Teacher Study programme visited the Pula Aquarium, where they gained new knowledge about the marine and terrestrial world through an expertly guided tour. During the visit, the students observed various species characteristic of the Adriatic Sea, as well as those coming from warmer sea areas.
Through interactive guidance, they learned about the biological characteristics, adaptation methods and ecological roles of individual organisms. In addition to marine species, the students also visited terrariums with terrestrial animals. The lecture on animal adaptations to climate change was particularly interesting. It provided insight into the current challenges of global change and the ability of organisms to survive in increasingly demanding conditions. During the activities the students were accompanied by dr.Ines Kovačić, who actively participates in the implementation of the Researchers' Night project.
