Organized by the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, and as part of the Erasmus+ project DivA – Diversity in Action, learning, teaching, and training (LTT) activities were held from 14 to 18 April 2025, along with a professional conference titled "Multilingual Mosaic: The Power of Learning Across Cultures." The event brought together educators, teachers, researchers, and experts from Slovenia, Italy, Austria, and Croatia. Alongside dr. Kristina Riman and dr. Lorena Lazarić from the Faculty of Educational Sciences, partners participating included the Faculty of Education, University of Primorska in Koper (Slovenia), Libera Università di Bolzano and the University of Trento (Italy), and Pädagogische Hochschule Wien (Austria).
The week-long activities began with an introductory meeting on Monday, April 14, where participants were given an overview of the project’s completed and upcoming activities, aimed at developing a cross-border digital platform for teacher education in multilingual and multicultural environments.
Throughout the week, participants took part in a series of interactive lectures, visits, and workshops designed for students and partner guests. The program included presentations of educational work at the partner institutions and visits to educational establishments in Pula, including the Rin Tin Tin kindergarten and the Giuseppina Martinuzzi school, where participants observed classes and spoke with principals and teachers.
On Thursday, April 17, an international scientific-professional conference, "Multilingual Mosaic: The Power of Learning Across Cultures," was held at the Italian Community Center in Pula. Through a series of professional presentations and thematic workshops, participants explored the challenges and practices of multilingual teaching at all educational levels. Topics included phonological awareness in children, kinesthetic approaches to language teaching, implicit and explicit learning, and drama methods in language education.
The LTT week concluded on Friday, April 18, with a final meeting summarizing the activities carried out and highlighting the importance of continuing collaboration and applying the knowledge gained in both local and international educational contexts. In this way, the DivA LTT week in Pula once again demonstrated that linguistic and cultural diversity is not a barrier, but a source of richness and inspiration for educational communities across Europe.
