Mathematics Teaching and Children's Literature Integration

As part of the Erasmus + mobility programme for teaching staff, associate professor dr. Burcu Durmaz visited our Faculty. Professor Durmaz comes from Süleyman Demirel University of Isparta, Turkey, where she teaches courses in the field of educational mathematics at the Faculty of Educational Sciences. On 20 March 2025 she gave a lecture entitled “Mathematics Teaching and Children's Literature Integration” to 4th-year students of the Teacher Study. In her lecture, she addressed the positive aspects of including children's literature in mathematics teaching, presented different ways of including works from children's literature in mathematics teaching, and shared examples of good practice with our students.
