Conference Topics
- Diversity and Interdisciplinarity in Education
Contemporary education goes through a period of changes which should answer the numerous dimensions belonging to various areas and levels of education. It is affected by the global economic crisis and information and communication technology which influence its development. It is linked to every pore of a social community and affected by all elements of children and youth’s everyday lives. The aspects arising from the need for changes in education at all its levels, from early and preschool, to primary, secondary and higher education, should provide an answer to developmental issues, and answering these questions, give a contribution to the quality of life. Educational values should become the primary goal of social communities. The teachers and professors’ identity will thus prosper, and their status improve. A great role in this process is played by students – future teachers, and the sole educational workers, pupils and their parents who, asking for efficiency in education, show their open-mindedness and empathy for the teacher who is utterly important in the developmental aspect of children and youth.
The developmental aspects of education are reflected in children and youth’s education in the contemporary world full of stereotypes and prejudices, in class, school management, in working with special needs children, as well as in other areas of education which are part of the school culture. The answers to the numerous questions can be offered by professionals from all areas of education who participate in the education of young generations in all possible ways and at all levels. Answers can also be given by the academic community, as well as by scientists who conduct research in education.
The actual curricular approach in schools and universities is directed toward educational expectations and learning outcomes, and depicts the standardization of knowledge, skills and attitudes in the regional, national and international context. It contributes to a clearer and more realistic education. By evaluation and assessment of the acquired knowledge, developed skills and shaped students’ attitudes, teachers/professors give information to students, parents and educational policy shareholders which will empower students/young people’s development, in their intention and need for lifelong learning.
