The 5th International Conference on Education, Innovation and Social Sciences (ICEISS 2026) – Resilient Education Systems & Adaptive Societies in the Age of Artificial Intelligence & Global Uncertainty was held on 20 August 2026, organised by Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), a highly regarded university located in Surakarta, on the island of Java, Indonesia. According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026, UMS is ranked among the top 1,500 universities worldwide and holds the highest level of national institutional accreditation, Unggul.

Assistant Professor Irena Kiss, PhD, presented her research entitled Empirically Derived Ability Dimensions Based on Multiple Intelligences Theory, Perceived Educational Fit, and Differences Between Men and Women, which was recognised as the conference’s best international scientific contribution and received the Best International Paper Award. The research forms part of the institutional research project at the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, Gender Equality in STEM Education and Career Opportunities (STEM EQUAL).

The most beautiful moments of a project are perhaps those in which we can look back at the work of all partners and see all outputs as meaningful accomplishments. From the literature review and repository of AI tools to interactive lesson plans; from the empirical collection of teachers’ and students’ reactions in ESP classes and stakeholder workshops to research articles, methodologies and monographs - the feeling of fulfillment makes all the hard work worthwhile and gives even greater meaning to the impact of the results. The end-of-project meeting, hosted by the University of Maribor in Ljubljana during the hot days of July 2026, brought the project partners together for the last time to reflect on two years of beautiful cooperation.

This particular journey has now come to an end. But perhaps another one will soon begin - equally challenging, equally rewarding, and equally beautiful.
